Physical Description
The Third Council District extends west to White Oak Avenue, Lindley Avenue on the east, Mulholland Drive on the southern boundary, and Roscoe Blvd. on the north.
Communities
Woodland Hills, Tarzana, Reseda, West Hills, Winnetka, and Canoga Park.
Population
Current population is 275,047 (According to Census 2010). Ethnic Breakdown: Hispanic is 28.7%, Asian is 10.8%, White is 54%, and African-American is 3.7%.
Total Number of Households
86,562 with 2.66 persons per household.
Public Facilities
Within its boundaries, the Third District has:
- Seven Fire Stations
- Two Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) stations, an LAPD substation, an LAPD community assistance office and an office of the California Highway Patrol.
- Five branches of the Los Angeles Public Library.
- 20 city-owned and operated recreation and parks facilities encompassing over 800 acres including two parks designed specifically for the use of the disabled and three Senior Citizen centers.
- A stage at Warner Park featuring free summer concerts, one lake with fishing, several swimming pools, two historical monuments, and a 24-acre horticultural center.
